What We Had in Common

You rise once you fall,

but I've learned to stay on the ground,

the tries claim to make you tall,

guess no one's to blame for me being short,

cries, with tears so vulnerable, make you strong,

as for me, everything turns to how they taste—bitter,

but when these frights take over,

everything stops,

life feels over,

and the heart gets numb.

Dreams tall as a tower,

and I’ve never learned to climb them,

now, giving up doesn’t sound so bad.

Those who were meant to be my supporters,

those who promised to love unconditionally,

now share with me just one thing in common:

because to them as well,

giving up doesn’t sound so bad.
