What The Butterfly Sang
By Dhriti Arya
A lil butterfly,
fluttered past the whispering trees.
It fluttered past the smiling sky
and the buzzing bees.
I saw it dancing in the air absorbed in a world of its own.
As it flew past my ear, I heard its melodious tone.
It sang a song, a lyric, a hymn,
it sang a song of the seemingly hopeless fall season she saw in her flight.
Yet with her face holding no grim.
It tuned the lyrics of the land of shadow and light.
It hymned the sunlit days and rains,
and winter season's pains.
Soon I knew what it sang was the seasons of life.
It told about the sunlit happiness and the ice-cold sorrow.
I heard that it sang the human life's strife,
and so it told how humans worry about tomorrow.
But if one knows how to enjoy life like a butterfly so he can fly in the clear blue sky....!
