What is A Poem?

Updated: Jul 14

By Siddhant Neyyan

A form of art forged deep inside the soul,

To capture an image, that's the goal

A way to release, the emotions that lay dormant within

A multitude of feelings held together by chains of language, so thin

A vivid tapestry showcasing images, hidden from our lacking sight

Dancing words, shining with light, holding the power to set the world alight

A bundle of words holding the pen's might,

Guiding us, through the night

That is a poem.

A bundle of words held together by rhythm and rhyme

A group of verses which whisper, secrets beyond time

Stanzas that tell, stories untold

But what meanings do they hold?

That is in the hands of the readers, young or old

That is a poem.
