WEEKENDS

As a kid, weekends meant a lot to us.

Later bedtimes and travels by bus.

Visit to relatives or getting to sleep in,

Either way, for us it's a win.

Oil baths, showers and tub soaks..

Getting cleaned up like good blokes.

Polishing shoes, cleaning the backpacks,

While enjoying crispy and spicy snacks.

It may rain or it may shine.

But on holidays together we dine.

Glued the tv till our plates went dry.

Channel change during ad? we'd cry..

Assignments and projects live in oblivion,

Gathering dust like an ancient medallion.

Struggles begin late Sunday night,

While parents scold us left and right,

And as we cook up stories for the homework,

Memories of the weekend make us smirk.
