We Treated You Like A Princess

By Saanvi Rawat

Indeed, they did. They provided her everything

, but couldn't give her the one thing she wanted—freedom,

as she wasn't allowed to step outside of the castle,

only could roam around it. Always lost in her world,

she was afraid of coming out of it, afraid of meeting new people.

She craved to explore the outside world, and used to see the days pass

by from the window of her room.

She believed that one day, her Prince Charming would come and

free her from this world,

and take her to another—but this world is harsh and cruel,

and though it's reality broke her down,

it didn't stop her from becoming strong.
