Was I Ever Your Own ?

Years of denial has torn me apart,

The only person I hold dear ,

left me fragmented.

Overwhelmed by emotions,i fooled my own naive self.

My heart feels defeated,

I am dead tired with words barely expressing the excruciating pain

in my chest,

All I know is that I always tried my best,

Yet to know it was never enough for you,

And here I am,all alone,

In search for the old you.

All those secrets i shared with you,

Have turned into mockeries.

All those promises that we made,

Are nothing but fancy words at display.

Our time together was never your priority,

For you never chose me.

In a place filled with unknown faces,

The only one I wanted by my side was you,

Just to be let down by my own selfish thoughts,

As I was never your choice but only your option.

Your deception feels like cold shards piercing through me,

This pain exhilarating each day,

Tormenting me each night.

My body feels like an empty vessel,

Ready to be dissolved,

My eyes feel heavy with all the tears dried up.

My baised friendship has led me to my own devastation,

You were always the one i did count on,

But I have a question, " was I ever your own ? "
