In midst of disaster I stand,

and I fail to understand

why blood is shed,

no one is spared

Nasty and cruel thoughts

taking away lives

Ignoring the souls

on both the sides,

seizing each other’s rights

wanting for more,

more land, more power,

more places to worship

desires to ownership.

In name of beliefs, humanity getting raped and killed.

For ages no tolerance, no sort of guilt.

No bit of tenderness

either towards oneself

or with others.

Someday you will be nowhere nobody there to care,

no one to cast a tear

and the ones you battled for once

none of them would appear.

And they say wars are no good then what the fighting for.

Leaving people behind with scars and fear.

Has the creator made you eternal that you seek greater space, more borders and larger nations,

when you will only be here not more than couple of years

and will have gone and vanished,

never to return to the place called earth.

When no return and none of us immortal,

when only for a limited time can we exist on earth

then why such foggy minds obsessed to conquer mankind.

Harming, bruising the neighboring men and compelling our souls to murder.

Is there any gain? if all around you and within you is only pain.

Why can we not suppress the evil heart, mind and soul,

come as one despite our differences,

and set a seed of love to dwell, to grow.

Spread more smiles and leave some peace instead crushing everything to piece

For the one above

never discriminated you, neither them.

He nourished others and you the same

then who are we to grow more than our tiny self being

who will be in dust or ash and may diminish to nothing.

Through my poem "Wars are no good" I want to give message to the world that war should never be an option to win over.  It leaves patches on soul for ages that becomes difficult to erase even with time.

Thanks
