Wake Up

I woke up

To the sound of scream,

I closed my eyes

Prayed for it all to be a dream,

But I knew it was real

I could feel it,

They eat my feelings as a meal

And my happiness, they steal it,

Which has now made me empty

And confused as well,

Now I have no other friend

For my story to tell,

So, I kept it in my mind

Hoping I’ll find someone one day,

But nobody did I find

To tell my story someday,

And I just kept waiting

And I still am,

I feel my happiness fading

But I smile because I still can,

God has helped me various times before

But why not now when I need him most?

God has answered various times before

Feeling lost like a wandering ghost,

The second I think I’m being helped

Next thing I see is that I’m falling,

I cursed the world and thought it would melt

And now back to the world I’m crawling,

Do you really want me to wake up again?

Or is it just a lie to ease my pain,

I’m broken, will you build me up again?

And sit beside me as the clouds rain,

I will fix all my issues

I will find the solutions,

With courage as my compass

And hope to guide my resolutions,

I will make my parents happy

I will make my sister proud,

I will walk the streets with success

But you’ll stare me with a glimpse of doubt,

This poem will end

And so will my time,

Everyone will lose a friend

And soon will end this rhyme,

Because I’m no hero

I’m not even a proper human,

Lost in the shadows of fright

Looking for my own fusion,

But I can’t wake up

Because in my dreams I have you,

Where every moment feels real

And my fears fade from view

Will I wake up again?

Or live in my dream?

Watch the clouds rain,

My arms clenched with you between.
