Her voice stuttered…..It was hushy

Lower than before…before ten-twenty years

Long back!!

Is it her voice or is it their ears??

She opened the windows for some air to gasp…

Rusty and stiff……the windows.

Felt as though she was in fight to get those opened at once….

Were they always like this??

She got a glimpse of banyan……old and dry…..like her,

Or is it?

Was it always there??

It’s a banyan, it definitely should’ve been!!

The rustling wind didn’t move the banyan a bit…..at least not as it used to

Maybe she is loosing her voice too…the banyan!

She sailed back about a decade

When her voice was as a storm could ever be…..

She ran fingers through her wrinkled neck,

Or was it her life that was wrinkled??

Was her throat dry?? Or her heart??

Her voice….it was anchoring deeper,

As louder she tried

She has a lot to say….but…..her voice!

She felt it falling deeper into her

Her soul was crushed….

No more voice inside her……her voice was dead.

So was she.
