Vantage

By Shailendra Yadav

Burn with rage,

burn the cage.

It’s an endless maze,

until you dare to lift your gaze.

Leave the earth for heaven’s sake.

Can’t you sense the tremors—

omens of an invited quake?

See how the whispering winds are whirling,

howling through the trees,

breaking their vow of silence,

setting a scene of Judgment Day unfurling.

Have a look with open eyes;

Unveil the vision and drop the lies

Don’t be a coward and cry.

It’s a drop of elixir

for the parched green eye.

Behold the sky,

and drop identity.

Kick with courage

in the eye of gravity.

Let’s invoke the Spirit that Elevate—

an act of rebellion

in a world of matter

that gravitates...

But all this blazing stuff

takes a vantage:

that life is rough,

and survivors

of this terrible cinema

are strong and tough.

Fight is not for the sake of fight;

It’s an enquiry within to gain insight.

Either you hold the hands of sky

Or be held by the gaze of green eye

Here, now, in the moment—

let’s take a deep breath.

Turn your gaze

from thrashing of the tree

to the roots of strength.

Let the winds whirl and gravity gravitate.

Stop burning with rage.

There is no cage.
