Utopia

Listen. Hear the sheep bawling ,

Was I crucified just to see my world falling?

My deity didn’t carve this world, the Swan trumpets,

Nor was this inhumanity heralded by the great Prophets,

I see Cupid’s arrows turning to missiles, the allegories whine,

Is this why we protected the Ganges and the Rhine?

No revolution, no romanticism works

The eternal territorial chauvinism lurks,

“No more sending children on Earth!”, the Divinity proclaims,

“I can’t see anymore pieces of my Rosary, singeing into those flames!”

My beads are Barbaric, they don’t spare even a periwinkle,

They trap me in concrete buildings, Listen! My cries tinkle,

I hope for Teresa again, a single won’t suffice this time,

Ms. Addams, I beg! Please stop these deceitful chimes.

Please reincarnate Sir Thomas , be it in London or Ethiopia,

Please fulfil my sole wish, I wish for Utopia.
