UNTIL THEN…

Sometimes I think maybe we will meet again,

At that time, we will be older, so maybe then,

I’d be right on time with everything so zen,

And then, you’d see, I’m the one for you.

So darling, farewell, until then.

Now, I am chaos to your thoughts, and you are poison to my heart,

Now, you must keep me furthest from your thoughts.

This way, you’re better when we part; I always hate this part, I try to forget, but it stands apart.

I’m sadly aware of what happens next; these experiences pile up, they brood, they nest,

Then the regrets swarm, infest, and deprive me of rest,

Fleeting affections haunt my waking moments like a bitter test,

Still, for you, I’d stand firm , I’d stand longer than the rest.

Despite all adversity, I make my standing still.

I’ll make the stance last longer, like standing steel.

I’ve set my heart on what I want, and I’m standing till.

I believe in you, and I, I have the standing will.
