Until Next Time

4AM, eyes wide open, he turned to his Mrs sleeping tight

Whispering to her knowing she wouldn’t hear,

He asked like a kid,“Can we sneak out to the hill?”

Little did he know she could tune into his throb

Dazed-amazed he saw her smile. Dawn it was when they left for the ride

Zealous as they were. Nothing over the other did they care

Happily wed, alluringly meld. Yet, was this just love or a riddle that they held?

A visit amidst the woods, the blooming meadow

The lush green shrubs seemed a quid pro quo

The sparkling due, the sun-drenched view

They witnessed the autumn fall, the majestic mountains standing tall.

Through every fight, they found their light. Even in the darkest of the night.

With hollow tooth and shining shoes finally making dreams come true.

Oh! What a duo have they been,

At 80 holding hands like teen.

Charmingly beautiful how they were! Yet, was this just a marriage or a secret they had?

Hiking high they reached the falls gasping for air.

She gazed at him with pride to own her man with flair.

He was no less in reflecting over the years, she knew.

But startled as she was when he pulled out the paper in blue.

Hopeless romance of old school they had,

Yet, was this just a tale or a love story unshared

You must be wondering what’s so special about the two?

This whole journey to them was a complete Déjà vu

She had seized that day as a memory in her eye

Later logged it down back when twenty-five.

“We shall design a quiz when we turn old”, she said.

And all these years he protected the first adventure they etched.

A bond so imperfect they dared. Warmth and regard that only squared.

They built their castle on friendship and care. It was the only recipe to a spectacular life they had.
