Unmask

it’s always there,

stuck to my face,

concealing my atrocity.

i’m a total disgrace.

without it,

i feel incomplete,

somewhat exposed,

it’s an embarrassing defeat.

but i’m tired of feeling this way,

highly insecure with a face always grey.

trying to escape everyone’s sight,

so that no one knows what i look like.

i think i’ve had enough,

it’s time that life stops feeling tough.

so after months of hiding,

i take the mask off and i catch myself smiling.
