Unfathomable

Every now and then I have my eyes closed,
And there your are, just out of reach yet within my world,
A beautiful soul, a pure smile, eyes kinder than the
Raining miracle on the plains of parched soil.
And when my eyes are open, I see you again, but
An imperfect soul, a rare smile, eyes determined yet
Brimming with emotions uncharted, words unsaid,
Just like the breathtaking clouds looming before a storm.
So, there you were in my fantasy land and in mundane reality,
Not so subtly unalike yet both exuding a breath of homely comfort
Whenever conjured up by my heart in my mind.
You are still far away though, our meet seemingly eons away;
Yet here I am sitting on a boulder that they call
The haven of solitude, but which I started calling the waiting station,
For me to just sit and let the hope triumph the hopelessness,
For you to find me when my quest of your entity has retired for the day,
For us to get the chance of fulfilling our unrequited promises.
We might be delusional in our faith on this journey to one another,
But I have yet to hear a better definition of unfathomable love.
