Under Control

An ugly heartbreak tossed with depression,

Was all it took,

For me to take the diversion

That got me off the hook.

I went down that road thinking one drag could do no harm,

That it would take away the cold, leaving me warm.

And yes, it did take away the pain, as they said,

Leaving an eerie silence in my head.

So I went deep, puff by puff,

And let go off all the worry with each snuff.

The few who cared showed their concern

Told not to solve the problem with a run.

"I can quit any anytime" became my parol,

As I thought everything was Under Control.

But now, as I try to get my life back on board,

It feels impossible to pullover on that road.

As I lust the high,

That helped me to run from every Why!!

I try and try not to be like those junkies

But everything is luring me back, be it heroin or LSDs.

Now I know its an addiction

And that happiness was no reality but fiction

That addiction, well played it's role,

Making me think everything was under control

That addiction, well played it's role,

Until I realised every bit is now out of control.
