(Un)Certainty
By Ajjarapu Neeharika
The evening sun is melting behind those mountains.
The children in the valley park are playing near fountains.
Sitting at the vantage point in pairs,
The lovers are watching the vast expanse of plains.
There sat a woman in her prime.
Far away from the world that's in its prime.
The grimness in her face grows,
Can be seen through her twisted eye brows.
The evening is folding the light
to enter the melancholic twilight.
A man with a sharp jawline sat next to her
with closed fists and solemn face with zero fervor.
His eyes bore no emotion.
Yet his legs tap in constant motion.
A bat screeched loudly.
A moth fled quietly.
Their looks, firmly locked.
Fumes sparring icicles it looked.
The crimson red
leaks into pantone blue streaks
as the hues of faded sun
jettisons into a jaded moon.
Her nostrils whimpered with a fiery rage.
His knuckles crackled like the bars of a cage.
The sun never understands the night' s fatalities;
The moon never stands for the day's difficulties.
Together they exist
on the bench of sky park;
But the veil of mist,
never lifts.
Settling and fleeting;
Scorching truth and a soothing lie.
Together they always lie;
Never can meet in-line,
but never can part any time.
