the rain was your best friend

and so i once loved him too.

now that you are gone,

i hate him like i do you.

a thousand people walk these streets,

but your face is all i see.

hoping you'll look back just once,

i'm right where you left me.

surrounding me is an air

of rotting, putrid stench.

i stand under an umbrella,

yet i'm completely, utterly drenched.
