Twilight

Standing atop the cliff;watching the sun go down,

In the sea of belittlement; he did drown.

Head bowed in shame, losing life’s game,

Naught more than a blight on his last name.

The setting sun, symbol of falling faith and hope,

“Let me follow my passion,” the answer was nope.

Clouds blocked the light, Sun faltered into netherworld,

Ready to fall, as the expectations he couldn’t hold.

Lo! A slight light fell on his face of gloom,

Fall did the sun, but arose the moon!

At the demise of one, the other gallantly rose!

Darkness surrounds, yet it timidly glows.

For the sunset signifies not death but rebirth,

For we cannot survive the moon’s dearth.

The message clear; his eyes did glimmer,

To be not who he was supposed to be but who he already was.

As Helios slowly descended to rise another day,

Like the plants, in his heart hope did sway.

The moon may be behind the sun in line,

But both shine when it is their time.

The dusk may define the end of the prey’s day,

Also marks the start of the predator’s play.

The Twilight that symbolises the end of mainstream,

Does say ‘Blaze your own path and you shall gleam.’
