Trenches of Encroachment

By Shriram Venkatachalapathy

Every lake and every tree

Is at stake due to a spree

Of enormous destruction

By illegal construction

Triggered by the eruption

Of widespread corruption

To ensure accommodation

For both interstate migrants

And international immigrants

Seeking jobs and education.

With hospitality in accommodation

But hostility seen in such litigation,

There is a need for a fair injunction

By lower and higher courts of laws

With no farm owner in death's jaws.

With love for providers of foods

And all livestock of the woods,

Let's strive to safeguard nature

And each of its living creature.
