Treasuring Life
By Shreya Sharma
Sometimes I wonder,
It must be difficult to die,
Leaving abode, for the heavenly sky.
The moment you realize,
It’s the end.
And find your everything,
Slipping out of the hand.
That one instant…
Your whole life comes swinging,
In front of your eyes.
There death comes bringing,
Sweet & sour memories of your life.
Now you wish to hold on,
This life a li’l more.
To which you kept on cursing,
This while whole.
Now you realize,
This life’s importance.
& wish to live a lifetime,
In that very single moment.
Here you understand…
It’s not the life but death,
That’s the one-time event.
Because this life itself, at every stage,
Is full of many lively moments.
It just depends on you,
For how you perceive it!
But it’s blissful & lively,
If that’s how you receive it.
Yeah, it might be short,
If you go on complaining & whining.
Instead it’ll be long enough,
Enough for a lifetime, if you’re willing & shining.
Surrounded by despair anytime,
If wishing to throw it away.
Just look at those every-time,
Yearning it & yet not having anyway.
Therefore…
Stop complaining anymore,
& Treasure every moment.
Coz you might not know,
If you’ll have it the next moment!
