Trapped In Your Storm

A beautiful beach I’ve never stepped foot on

A sea of blue

Sands of blonde

Dragging me further with every wave that crashes

I’ll never return to shore

So close yet so far

The danger of swimming in an ocean, I know not of what lives underneath

Only floating on the surface

Too afraid to go too deep

Sharks only appear when you fall in too far

I know more than I think, but the rest are just assumptions

I don’t want to make an ass out of you and me

Run my fingers through soft sands

Fantasies of falling in deep

Comfortable close to the coast

But always wanting more

Your secrets aren’t mine to keep

Unsupervised

Skinny dipping in your tides

Disguised by lies

Only you know what you hide

No surprise I’m deceived by your starry skies

I want to leave, but I don’t

Every day you pull me back in

Further

Deeper

There’s no turning back

No leaving your seas

Every day I return

No matter how much I wanna run

I thought beaches were supposed to be fun

Until you're burned by the sun

In your beautiful blue, I drown

Bringing your sharks down with me

I hate you, but I love you more

Each day, a new surprise, but the same insanity

What am I here for

I can just flee

But I don’t have it in me

Not just that I don’t know how

But also, who would I be

What would I do

There’s no you without me
