Token Number 2 at the Counter Number 2 !

By Sini Jose

Token number 2

At counter number 2 !!

Neat mapping.

No dirty dilemma,

No sense of loss,

On Roads taken

Or on Roads not taken

So smooth a switching

Just like the easy shift between

Two Radio stations

Or TV programmes.

Taken road for Mundane Trip

Not- taken road for Detours

One in Two

To the Two-in-One...!

Taken Road

Fully mapped

Clear sign boards

Seats fully reseved.

No wandering commuters.

Daytime journeys.

Guarded territories

Ringed Testimonies

Parliamentary debates between

The neatly sewn together flames

Scripture-approved bloodshed

All through the road

Posters Advertising

Pleasures of a sweet-home.

Not- Taken Road,

Mysteries ahead

Lure of the unexplored,

Underworld adventures,

Fairy- tale kingship,

Thrilling tales, untold

Water-rides ever dreamed at

Forest visits much assured.

Night- cafe, wine parties,

Otherworld cherry taste.

Violence on wild dance

Fully-muted pain cries

Unleashed energy,

Libidos in full force.

Hey! but think about

The dangers that lay ahead

The Terrible Shift

From the mutually chosen

Drought zone comfort

To the tricky hill waterfalls,

To the overflow of

A massive monsoon flood;

The state of being ever exposed to

The Nightingale's songs,

That refuses to stop it's chants

Even in the midst of piercing cold;

The drowsiness,

That the wild wine may inject;

The dungeons that will frighten

You the day-traveler;

The taste of wild red cherry

That will nump your tongue forever;

The deeply drawn memory of

The blue and red twin-flame

That will burden you

With the weight of knowledge,

Of the pain of your sewn spirit.

At this point

You loss all the road maps

Of roads taken and the roads -not taken...

And I see you utterly lost

Somewhere in the Chaos...
