To Younger Me

By Dhritika Deka

Younger me, full of dreams,

With wide eyes looking at the dark sky,

Immersed into the world of fantasy.

Kind and unknown to world

Eager to learn more

Get back of its own when fallen down.

With soft bare feet running towards the affection of near ones,

Not known all the faces were not meant to be admired.

With a childish gesture I ran to catch up with the wrong ones onto the darker train of life.

Not knowing what’s the destination I was about to get in!

Just like the trees stood up high in any seasons, I too tried to stand strong in every battle of

mine.

That tender me learnt every sweet face was not meant to have a kind heart.

Fought, felt, cried countless days but never gave up the desire to live life.

Met new people at every stage,

Learnt everyone was facing their own battle in life.

Some were ditched by their loves, damaged by friends, some lost their loved one, someone

else was trying to get back into their normal way of life.
