To The Healers

By Lacey Gallant

beware the vampires

they come with gluttony

present as harmless

but full of acrimony

beware the shapeshifters

they come with envy

present as friendship

but wear your energy

beware the tricksters

they come with pride

present as authentic

but a mask they hide

beware the narcs

they come with wrath

present as saviour

but lure you off path

beware the opportunists

they come with sloth

present as supporter

but here for the clout

beware the entitled

they come with greed

present as a giver

but take without heed

beware the incubus

they come with lust

present as devoted

but fell your trust

dark attachments in all

wounded and cruel

spreading their shadow

seeking to rule

predators as prey

act eternal victim

when in truth it is them

that are the hitmen

hook their claws in

think they own you

feast on your essence

you are their menu

the red flags are there

always in sight

expect you to worship

while they claim your light

take from the givers

from open hearts and souls

not knowing they’ll pay

for what they stole

they think you deserve it

if you fall for their game

see kindness as weakness

to exploit and maim

escaped for long

no consequence in time

but the cycle is closing

the bell will chime

before judgement comes

before their fall

a test will be given

chance to reverse it all

a blessing be gifted

disguised as common

but carries the essence

of healing and summon

a call to awaken

and change their acts

align with light

and form new pacts

the misaligned ways

they chose in the past

be wiped away

if they choose the path

but few will do so

it requires much

death to the ego

release its clutch

move from the mind

and into the heart

heal the past

and receive a new start

if they refuse

and turn from the light

choosing the darkness

will have a steep price

judgement be called

heart weighed by feather

all deeds exposed

their acts do matter

justice arrives

here comes her call

no avoiding it now

the gavel will fall

if found guilty

of bringing pain

the penance is steep

escape is vain

for here lies karma

cause and effect

not a form of punishment

just give and get

when she will catch up

no way to know

this life or the next

she’ll get her goal

they laughed in her face

unaware time is nigh

ignored the turning

shown in the sky

the anointed have woken

no longer blind

removing the claws

releasing the bind

pull back their offer

no longer given

to those who don’t honour

the gift that was hidden

the rule of darkness

nears its end

what once escaped

no longer defend

those once last

will now be first

those drained dry

will no longer thirst

and those who took

and didn’t give back

will have to answer

for all their attacks

and yet they will cry

claim their innocence

blame someone else

for their dissonance

say it’s not fair

denying their wrath

they brought chaos

but don’t want it back

now that consequence

knocks on the door

they are the sufferer

knees hit the floor

but is the contrition

real or false

a difference between

regret and remorse

are they sorry

they did it all

or are they just sorry

their game got called

not something for you

to know or discern

a higher-up’s job

release your concern

you need not show

or search for clues

spirit saw all

no hiding from dues

don’t seek revenge

stoop to their level

forsake your heart

or fall for the devil

it’s not only them

facing a test

will you turn dark

chasing vengeance

stay in compassion

forgiveness and mercy

allow karma to sort

who are the worthy

so rest easy now

no need for fright

hold your boundaries

reclaim your light

you did your part

you offered a hand

so surrender with peace

to Divine plan

The poem is a powerful reminder of toxic people who hurt others. Very well done.
