To the dog who died on the road

To the dog who died on the road

I know you not and I wouldn't have

I thought you were a speck on the road

Arrogantly I bounced about

In the abundance of your abode

You full of hopes and desires

Lay in the lap of life

Me in my carelessness

Sent your pack into strife

You are one and the only

Not just of your kind but of all beings who live I know I don't deserve it but would you be able to forgive?
