To My Sun

There is something in my heart that wants to escape,

But I won’t allow it.

A million stories scratching on the walls of my heart,

Trying to break free,

Struggling to get out!

Every time you called me your Moon,

A part of me wanted to ask, “Will you be my Sun?”

Not that you weren’t already, but I really wanted you to know that,

‘The light you see in me is merely yours!’

Reflecting through the whole night,

Shining right back at you!

And that’s how all the words I really wanted to say,

Remain unspoken.

For the Sun is separated from the Moon and they will never meet anytime soon!

But just like the eclipse, one day all those words will find a way,

A way leading me to you!
