To My Long Distance Lover..

I once heard stories of love from the world afar,

Now it's only your name that shines like a star.

How can I say I don’t feel love’s sweet fire,

When your thoughts alone are all my heart desires?

Years passed, no one cared for me this much,

Not once did anyone check if I’d had a meal or such,

Maybe my heart was waiting just for you,

Perhaps it’s for you I’ve held myself through.

Your love is a comfort I willingly accept,

I lose myself in it, my senses inept.

Never has anyone been quite like you,

Maybe the heavens made you just so true.

Whatever happens, I don’t want to let go,

Hearing your voice in the morning is the start of my glow.

In dreams, I'll meet you, by nightfall's grace,

And I long for the day when we share the same space.

Together we’ll wake with coffee in hand,

Preparing you with love, making plans so grand.

We'll walk together, every day, side by side,

Through every smile, every tear, every stride.

I’ll hold you close through the darkest of nights,

Teasing you gently, under the moon's soft light.

And sometimes I’ll whisper sweet rhymes for you,

Because loving you, dear, is all I want to do.
