TO LIVE, YOU MUST DIE, HUMA
By BASRAH HASAN RIZVI
To live you must die Huma
With Tranquility conquered land, seldom brought peace
Peace was sought albeit of recurring wars.
Wars that often lead to chaotic charges, construed into
Into trenchant resolve. No ifs no buts, be subservient for your life’s sake.
Life ; sporadically that stood. Shushing her from every corner.
Nude faces that exerted dull expressions, whenever they saw her.
Her life, hopes of which dying were high, curated new path
Path that lead to eternal calm, construed into
Into abrupt tragedy. No ifs no buts, be subservient for your life’s sake.
Life ; Tediously that stood, reckoning her reckless life decisions.
Whilst the heaven that granted her wish, seldom brought peace
Peace that was conquered lurked havoc.
Havoc that displayed smiles concealed behind grief construed into
Into sorrow as such as experienced never before.
What ifs and what buts now? At last she succumbed to her death.
Death ; delightedly that stood. Seeking submission of such strong soul.
Her ; dauntlessly who stood. Reciting on her lips the verse,
To live, you must die, Huma.
