What do you do when your friends start to die?

Do you shed tears and try to say goodbye?

Do you keep living and wonder truly why,

Death couldn't just be a bitter lie?

And I don't mean to pry,

But do you calmly sit and cry?

Do you wonder about the next moment you'll ever say "hi"?

Do you sit down and let out a sigh?

What do you do when your friends wither away?

Your time is also near, and soon you too will lay.

What do you do when you can foresee your death?

And you will soon take your very last breath?

What do you do when you 're at the door of death?

What do you do when you're about to depart?

Do you simply succumb and try to catch a glimpse of how

Death cuts the very strings of the beat of your heart?

Or do you struggle and fight for air?

And try not to let your life end in despair?

Do you ask God, "Why isn't life fair?"

As you look at your ash-grey hair?

How do you walk on the ground,

Knowing very well you will end up in it?

How do you utter a sound,

When you have words stuck in your throat?

Tell me please, how do you live,

Knowing one day you shall die?

How do you accept what the world gives

And say your final goodbye?

For I too shall one day die and leave,

How can I live this life and simply believe?
