Time slips away, like sand through my hand,
Moments fade like footprints in the sand.
Yesterday’s laughter, tomorrow’s unknown,
The present feels like a fleeting stone.
The clock keeps ticking, the sun moves high,
The moon takes over the endless sky.
I blinked, and childhood turned to dust,
Dreams once bright now covered in rust.
We chase the future, we race the light,
Forgetting to pause and hold things tight.
In crowded rooms or silent air,
Time leaves its mark everywhere.
A smile, a tear, a fleeting glance,
Life dances on in a hurried trance.
But if I could stop, just for a day,
I’d breathe, I’d smile, I’d softly say—
“Slow down, dear time, just let me stay,
In this moment, don’t drift away.”
Yet time won’t listen, it won’t rewind,
It leaves us stories, it leaves us blind.
So hold each second, don’t let it stray,
Because in the end… time slips away.
