Time Moved Fast

By Nitika Bhutani

But time moved fast, as time will do,

And they grew old — unnoticed too.

The hands that fed now shake in vain,

The eyes that smiled now hide their pain.

The ones who stayed through sleepless nights,

Who dimmed their dreams to keep your lights,

Now sit in rooms where silence hums,

And wait for footsteps that never come.

The walls once bright with their sweet song,

Now hum of days that grew too long.

Their laughter dimmed, their dreams turned grey,

Yet love for you won’t fade away.

You built your world on hopes so wide,

And left the ones who stood beside.

They gave you wings, you chose to fly—

But never turned to say goodbye.

And time moves fast, as time will do,

One day it may come back for you.

You’ll seek their warmth, their gentle grace—

But find just dust… and empty space.
