Thunderstorm

From pitter-patter to loud thunder,

From wet flowers to the waterlogged land

I watched from the window,

holding my coffee mug,

as the light drizzle turned into a thunderstorm.

The beautiful cloudy sky turned into a fiery storm.

I sat on my bed, staring at the window,

the glass vibrating as the lightning struck nearby.

I could hear the wind howling,

the trees moving,

the dogs barking,

and the cars honking.

It seemed as if everyone's work was disrupted,

Just because the sky turned itself on everyone

From the soft clouds,

To the thunderous bed,

I couldn't think of anything else.

But the rain didn't stop.

So, I closed my eyes and tried to sleep.

Woke up in the morning to a lovely sound.

The tiny birds chirping as the sun shone about

The storm was over,

and the sky was clear.

The grass was greener,

and the flowers bloomed higher.
