Thundering Silence

Updated: Feb 12

By Aanvi Bagaria

I was born to be a rainstorm, to conquer the night

To tell a story with each fallen raindrop

To break darkness with my light

I was born to be a rainstorm, to begin a new life

To cleanse you of your sins and wash the dirt from your eyes

But you ran for shelter like a hawk in flight

You shunned me away while I thrived in the skies

My thunder was silenced, my light withdrawn

So I learnt to twist my tongue, to stay hidden at the crack of dawn

I gave you all you wanted , a lifeless sun

The golden hue of happiness, all the negativity undone

But your leaves ran dry, and your days grew weak

You wished you had not taken for granted my ways to speak

I was born to be a rainstorm to be chaotic and bold

To take life as it comes ,watch the beauty unfold

I was born to be a rainstorm

I cannot not to be controlled

I may be tragic and full of woes,

But my darkness is the reason all beauty grows
