Through the lens of a fading photograph

You're still smiling.

Were close,

Your hands wrapped around me,

we’re laughing…

I keep the photograph in my pocket.

Cause i know those times have passed,

I know that, ill never be able to relive it..,

Maybe that's why I hold onto it…

They say “good things never last”

But how I wish we did…

I held onto my faded photograph,

We faded faster than the paper..,

Were fading…

And I can't find a way to get the color back…

I could color over it but..

It wouldn't be the same would it?

Do you still hold onto our photograph?

The worst part is…

I know it's in your room.

The day we took it..,

You hung it up,sent me a picture..

A video,too…

The photograph I keep in my pocket,

Our Photograph.

The colors faded,the corners folded and rumpled..

I wonder if yours is still hung up…

Or maybe you took yours down when it faded.

Maybe it's in your pocket,

Maybe yours is still fresh, and…I'm the only one wearing it out.

Maybe I'm holding onto the image of you…

Because im scared to let you go,

I'm scared to let it fade completely…

As if it never existed.
