Throne of Thorns

This silent song is only mine to sing -

Does its frail echo reach you?

Beloved ruler of my every word,

Did your eyes forget how to sleep?

In this salty sea , searching shores of you,

Only my shadow hums the lost melody .

The wind saw you and stood still,

Then fled.

The moon came close,

Then bowed and vanished.

Why, O Goddess, you leave me breathless so softly - Not with fire, but with thorns?

I searched the empty winds till my soul left.

This nest sings hollow,

Its arms of thorns reaching for dawn,

Asking where is the song that made it a home?

O green grove of your eyes -

I gave my soul to buy that bloom,

And found it was poisoned gold.

Too late I learned

This paradise was hell, made beautiful.

The curse has gone, but where are you, my mysterious curse? No melody left to crown this silence.

What stem lives when petals fall?

Only a throne of thorns,

And a broken heart beating upon it.

Time counts every breath I borrowed.

His question rots into a hollow joke.

Lost in tides that drown the shore -

An ache lives in my throat now,

And sings no more.
