Lights on

Is my heart written sorrow?

Hidden and sealed away.

An unsettling feeling creeping up my neck.

My vision has gone blurry,

Why can't I see?

It just happens, no signs, no warning.

Lights on

A ship's anchor on my chest,

Forcing me down in a sea of my thoughts.

Non-stop voices consume me,

(Stop! Stop. stop it.)

But instead of fighting back, I allow them to hollow me out.

Lights on

Cold room, wet tear-soaked pillows.

Uneven breaths. Shaking hands.

When it feel like life's finally on my side,

I feel it.

Lights out.
