This World

By Catherine Mervyn Gilbert

This world is like a pastry

As its just so sweet for us all

This world spins like a ballerina and dances between  day and

night for all

This world is the greatest mother

As it gives us everything we need

This world is an enormous mansion

As it holds its own gold to food we dig

But now, and yes now

This world is just dwindling down

Burdened with all that we do

And then with those we throw, all things we don’t need.
