This Is Me
Who is the one who really sees me?
Who knows what makes me smile?
Who is the one who truly knows me?
I haven’t felt that in a long while.
Who will love the sound of my laughter?
Feel the breath I make when I sigh.
Who will catch me when I’m falling?
Not let me drop, but instead make me fly.
Who will like the way I always chatter;
The way I gesture so much?
Who will want to be just beside me;
To lift me up with a simple touch?
Who will find my mannerisms charming?
Who thinks my opinions are worthy too.
Who will know what I am always thinking?
Who will say, “Don’t worry, I get you”.
Who views me as gracious and charming?
Not common but one of a kind.
Who notices what I am always doing?
Because I am always on their mind.
Most times the people around me,
Look at me but don’t really see,
Who will be the one who recognizes it,
The moment when I say “This is Me!”
