There He Goes

A tribute poem to healing by Amore’ Gerber

There he goes -

shaking the hand that took my innocence,

shaking my belief,

shaking and shaping the future.

There he goes –

responding to her cries,

reaching for her from the beyond,

reacting to eyes of nothingness.

There he goes –

showing me what a hero should look like,

showing, not being,

scattered attention and promises of healing,

somewhere only he can help.

There he goes –

giving hope, in a crooked example

giving a shoulder, setting the tone

giving no healing, just a quiet battle.

There he goes, and still – I would follow.
