The Writer's Paradox

By Malavika Rudrakumar

I don't want to write today,

The books, they lay bare,

And pens, filled with ink they stay,

But motivation has been rare.

However, my soul has no intention to stop.

Dig deeper! Find an inspiration.

"An idle mind- the devil's workshop."

What a dreaded affiliation.

Suffocated in this vicious routine,

Of eat, sleep and mindless mumble.

This turbulence, sadly unforeseen,

Has left my vision in a crumble.

By now, I must accept the inevitable.

Ironic, these thoughts, to waste they lay.

Sigh, some other day that pen may be eligible,

But I just don’t want to write anything today.
