The World We Don't See

They walk with faces downward,

Their fingers scrolling fast,

The morning sun is rising,

But none will let it last.

The skies are painted golden,

The clouds drift slow and free,

Yet no one stops to wonder,

How soft the dawn can be.

The rivers keep on singing,

Their voices pure and deep,

But all the ears are busy,

With songs their phones will keep.

The flowers bloom in silence,

The winds through branches play,

But eyes are caught on pages

That glow will fade away.

The moonlight crowns the evening,

The stars begin to shine,

But few will lift their faces,

To see this grand design.

And the earth, our patient mother,

She waits with tender care,

Her gifts lie all around us,

But we are never there.

So pause a while, O people,

Look up, and you will find,

The beauty of this planet,

Can heal the restless mind.
