The Windchime

By Jiana Shah

Out there we lay

on the lush fields

giggling and laughing about,

oblivious of what the future yields.

The leaves began to fall,

the sky lost its colour.

The ties that kept us close,

abandoned, like every other.

The time painfully passed,

I witness another broken bond,

my heart leads back to you,

your memories, tender and fond.

One night I lay sleepless,

my mind to a different time.

When we were still there,

listening to the windchime.
