The Wind Whispered To Me.

By Bhuvana Kannan

  1. The Hands He Failed to Hold..

No memories last, to hold them tight

The wind blew fast to seize my might

The sunlight gleamed and the raindrops hit

I lost myself in the dawning mist.

Through the woods I walk along

Hoping to be born where I wish to belong

No turning back, no leaving behind

Sorrowful have been, the engraved mind.

You failed to pause your thoughts

Like typhoons sabotaged the shore forts

Dear father, you should have waited I wished

But to eternity you surrendered the love you lived.

  1. Doped in the Dale..

Breathe, breathe hard, dimensions new beyond the yard

Knocked down on the grass, holding tranquility In thy arms

The poundings metamorphosed to poised little whispers

Clouds on waters revamped in wonderment treats

Shades rainbow-like, the rays brilliant

He lay on the velvet moss, as on seventh heaven and afar.

  1. The Roads I Walked..

Spreading the wings apart, hitting the clouds afloat

I would wish to see beyond, mine and your land

From Guatemala to Galapagos, miles I walked without amigos

A new other man I met all day

Hence promised to the self that I don’t stay

Seasons passed and flavors crossed

Together the bird teams flocked

Nevertheless the wind blew, endless being the whispered clue.

  1. The Painted Town..

Sunshine went hiding silhouettes played gambling

Now I see the town dipped in tint orange slushing

The black tea in my glass shone through the light

And the boy who played seemed red and bright

They called it dusk, I called it dawn

The dawning to an endless panoramic lawn

Do you really see what my eyes could see

Or did the colors play hide and seek!!

The man on the bike with a helmet and beard

Went on the roads like a hippie I have heard

Is this how nature was born

Or was it raised by the man bygone?

The gush was high so was the cliff I tried

Deep down the water, nobody knew I cried

From orange to black, the shade went dark

Oh! It was and end to the magic and spark

  1. The Beige Backpack..

Broken and frozen, the night dawned

Tear soaked attire, rugged and flawed

To the geared bikes, the baggage bound

Memories hoarded never to be found

Pit stops and coffees on the endless roads

Deluged with thoughts and narrative odes

The birds flocked in the brightened sky

Irony is life, that seemed a lie

The journey etched in the deepened heart

A silver lining like a softened dart

Caressed with love and embalmed in hope

Lets learn to live life as high as on dope

  1. This too shall pass

The blackened clouds exhaled in ecstasy

As it felt charming in itself

Little were the gleaning rays mindful of this

Before it could smudge the shadowed bliss

Let the folks stay, let the lot thrive

Let the clouds be, and this too shall pass

  1. I Found Me

Under the cloak, strided a mother’s son

With all haste to meet the sinking sun

He did not know, he never tried to seek

Oh what was it that made his mind creek.

He pressed his foot on the soil stained

A handful he grabbed to know nothing he had gained

To motherland he surrendered the warriors sword

Tears then dropped, wiping the blood that it borne.

Marooning himself, giving rebirth to oneself

This journey he started , to be the his self

Savior he turned, to live and laugh he taught the little ones

This day, his eyes shone bright, those that first met his mother’s eyes.
