The Wicked Witch of the West

This story is about the Wicked Witch of the West from the story ‘The Wizard of Oz’.

The evil with was born in a village near the Land of Oz. Her name was Lily. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Green and were farmers. They earned very little money. Her friends and the other villagers didn’t like her and teased her because she was very plain and ugly.

One day, the Wicked Witch of the East came to Lily’s house in the form of a tramp. She asked Lily for some food. When she came out of her house to give the tramp some food, the Wicked Witch suddenly held her hand and took her to a different land. That land was called the East Land of the Wicked Witch. There, the Wicked Witch of the East turned Lily into a witch by putting a spell on her. She didn’t want to be a witch but was forced to. The Wicked Witch told her to kill many people and animals. After she saw that Lily was not obeying her

orders, she put another spell on her so that she would remain wicked forever. So, Lily turned into the Wicked Witch of the West and started torturing people too. Through this spell, Lily had acquired magical powers too. She could control air, water, land and fire – the four main elements of earth. One day, when Lily was sitting all by herself, she heard the Wicked Witch saying that if someone other than Lily pours water on her, she would melt and turn into a puddle and then be reborn in any place near the East Land of the Wicked Witch. After hearing this, Lily wished that this would happen as that was much better than living as an evil old witch.

Finally, a day came when her wish came true. A girl named Dorothy arrived. She killed the Wicked Witch of the East and then came to the place where the Wicked Witch of the West lived. She poured a bucket full of water on her and the Wicked Witch of the West was finished. But just then, Lily’s new life began in the palace of King Charles and Queen Daphne.
