The Whispering Soil

Life’s eternal song, nurtured by bonds,

Deciphers living codes to nutrient buds,

Transmuting raw chemicals into sacred genes,

While ether, enthralled, intuits the crown of corns.

Axial orbs emerge from rupturing radicles.

Plumules yield magical hymns of tiny worlds,

As particles’ irises muse with distant stains,

Charmed by their dark, umbilical environment.

Yet, as intellectual passions fade,

Only hangovers and fractured dreams remain.

Simple comforts warp into strange anomalies,

And progress stalls beneath a careless reign.

After the war, imperial farms spread their grip,

With chemical floods that forced the harvest’s yield,

Yet poisoned the deep soil’s living web,

And left a richer biodiversity lost beyond recall.

The specter of synthetic stress loomed large,

The ancient, traditional economies blurred;

The axles of life’s streams creaked to a sudden halt,

As the rural life-support mechanism faltered.

Out of the rot, a fractured tribe reclaims the field.

Asymmetrical, yet desperate to stay in tune,

The earthbound feast meets creatures of the sky;

They probe the hidden depths where all things live,

And trace life’s Braille with humankind’s own hand.
