The Weight of Water

Tears are the precious present we’re given,
To express each emotion though it can be rough.
They are meant to flow freely, freely forgiven,
Falling gently, never with a huff.
When you don’t wish to cry,
And feel moisture swell in your eye,
Don’t fret, for they won’t let you lie,
Reminding you that life’s worth the try.
You long to embrace someone tight,
And find solace until the end.
Time passes as you search for what’s right,
Yet in the shadows, you silently bend.
Not all share this heartfelt boon,
Some aim to be stars that touch the moon.
I admire their strength, their quiet tune,
Yet ponder why they’ve withered too soon.
You can’t deem them wrong,
For they bear a valiant heart.
In the midst of life’s throng,
Tears reveal the strength in their art.
