The Wedding Ring.

By Shashwat Thakur

You tell me that you hate me

But you tell 'em that you miss me.

Your love wanders in intermittence.

I am in incertitude that it is just pretense.

This growing insecurity kills me inside

And I fall apart when I fail to hide

The piercing pain and the subtle smiles.

Broken promises, unexplained lies and divorce files

Push me out of love and put me in a somber situation.

I get stuck betwixt love, chaos and confusion.

Thoughts of separation are just trifling;

I still love you and without you, I won't be surviving.

Fearing and feeling a prick of jealousy,

I see the wildest dreams and it cuts me deeply.

I fall short of words and begin to mumble

Whilst I watch myself in the wild nights as I crumble.

Learning through the long and lonesome nights,

I have grown a lot and I want to put an end to all these futile fights.

Finally I have decided to save our nuptial knot with my love that is dense

And the wedding ring tells me that the threads of our lives are intertwined thence!
