The Vision
By Purvi Rathod
I thought I looked pretty today. I could be sure because I got a few compliments. When I went out, I realised I had underestimated myself. I went out and eyes just flashed at me. They looked at me with the utmost curiosity. I always wanted to be able to grab everyone's attention when I walk but somehow, this isn't what I expected. This was different. Those eyes that turned towards me were not soft. They were calm but they spoke the world to me and that world didn't seem like it had a tiny amount of respect or shame. That world was becoming reality in his eyes and I could see it. I could see that those eyes didn't mean any good for anyone. I felt uncomfortable and started to walk faster but the eyes followed me.
Slowly, the number of eyes increased and the pace of my feet too. This unexpected attention was never what I intented when I came out. I realised now that I looked like an absolute princess with the most perfect body judging from the amount of testosterones that I apparently activated. But I am sure even an absolute princess with the most perfect body wouldn't want what I was getting. When a girl dreams of being able to turn heads around, this attention is not what she has in mind. But these eyes wouldn't understand that. They only know to stare at her with such audacity so as to make her wish she wouldn't be here. If only a few pairs of eyes could do that to a girl, it's a wonder that she would still long to go out in the hopes to change the vision of these eyes.
