THE VICIOUS CYCLE

The bottle was a cause of concern, I was at a point of a no return!

My ego & feign stopped my reign, lost all that I built in vain.

Incognito - I have been all this while, behind the misfortunes of my drunken guile.

Countless times I have feared to speak, only to hear my coherent voice squeak.

Relapses and slips reared its ugly head now and then,

I was high on sobriety and abysmal on addiction.

Longer the dependence, shorter the sublime.

More often than not, I was washed up, thankfully to the shores instead.

I said to myself - Now is the time! Spend it like your final dime.
